Work today was alright, kinda got a back ache and kinda daunting with the big boss around. It's hard trying to find something to do while waiting for orders to be ready and everything's pretty much done already.
Anyway something hilarious at work happened today, which made me forget time and I ended up staying another extra 10 minutes. As you know, I work at Noodle Box - i.e. our main staple food is noodles and/or rice as well. Today I had a few orders of Teriyaki Chicken without chicken, which is quite amusing to me =p Well, my last order of the day was Teriyaki Chicken, without capisum, without chicken and wait for it, wait for it, without noodles! lol. I just got the basic veges and went to the chef and told him the customers request and for a moment the two of us just stood there, stunned. Ended up just piling a big bowl of vege for the customer whom I felt is really stupid but oh well, she's paying senior citizen price which is $4.95 for a small box of vege. How smart ey.
Since we're on the topic of noodle box, let's have a review of the food. *disclaimer: it's all personal taste, so no need to take my words to heart*
My top 3 choices are:
1) Nasi/Nasi seafood box
2) Chicken Satay
3) Combo box
The above choices aren't too salty, doesn't have thick noodles (which I don't really fancy) and the taste is rather close to home one way or another.
Items I won't recommend:
1) Beef and black bean - way too salty
2) Oyster sauce - ditto above
3) KT box - ditto
Items I find alright:
1) Hot box
2) Teriyaki (supposedly it taste like char kway tiao if you choose the flat white noodles)
I'd always recommend the sides, especially steamed dim sims (with soy sauce - but it taste like those sweet sauce for that pink weird shape glutinous rice filling kway we eat during CNY or soon kway) or vegetarian spring rolls.
I've yet to try all the various sauces and luck-sa (as they spell it) but once I do, I'd definately do another review again =p
Peace out =)
