I'm back from my one week break and what a break it was. Headed up to Brisbane on
Monday, attempted to club but we realised the clubs there closes from
Monday to
Wednesday and some even
Thursdays which lead me to think "how can they survive opening only three days a week?" *ponders*
We ended up eating pancakes for supper two nights in a row for that very reason and we even pop-ed by the casino which was rather interesting.
Pokies is the new age version of jackpot machine and it looks rather dumb just sitting there pressing a button or two but man can you really win if you get the free games or winning time 2 or more. Lucky Christine actually won $20 by just playing $3. Cool
ey.
Visited Mt
Cootha, planetarium and botanic garden on day two. It was rather fun, we had a rather filling picnic at Mt
Cootha and due to time constraints (as the last bus was at 410) we had to rush our trip at the planetarium and botanic garden lest we got stuck in the middle of no where.
Day 3 was spent visiting museums and city hall and it was actually rather cool but really tiring. I could barely feel my legs at the end of the day.
Day 4 was spent eating char
kway tiao and fried rice for breakfast and man does it kills my craving for
Singapore food
coz it's really good. Headed back for hot pot at
Amanda's before heading to Bedroom (a club) for ladies night. Amanda was going
ga-
ga over the hot exotic male dancer
lol. However general
consensus is that the topless waiter was cuter
lol.
Shopped a
lil on
Friday at Australian fair. It was quite sad I
couldn't find anything nice at
supre coz their clothes were going at $5 per piece. oh man.
Anyway the stupidest thing of the week was on Sunday. As usual the pastor sent me to church in the morning, somehow i feel like their kid when we walk into the church and pastor's wife is introducing me to people.
Took a different bus home and due to me being engrossed with my book I missed my stop and ended miles away from my intended destination. I was a whole 2 suburb away.
Ended up stopping in the middle of no where and waiting in the hot sun without my sunglasses and feeling real hot. Ended up waiting for close to 1 hour and by the time i reached home it was about 3 hours later.
Rushed down to the beach to find that the waves were strong (if you'd consider that a wave, not that i was planning to swim) and attempts to get a tan while doing my reading failed as the sun was setting really early.
Had a rather
saltish ramen for dinner before rushing home to take a shower before heading to Bedroom for live band to find that the bus
didn't appear despite us checking the
Internet and paper timetable. To think i ran all the way from my place to the
bus stop. Headed to
Amanda's to watch Music & Lyrics instead. Disappointing.
One last rant. Attempts to do up all my
research today was
disrupted by the
Internet as it kept working one minute and not the other.
Back to work.
Cheers mates

Just back from watching
Simpsons at Surfer's and it's all good. Free movie by the beach, that's really sweet. Would have been better if we had our jackets along.
Anyway went body boarding today. Thankfully I wasn't injured today but the board still keeps sliding away from me. Might be due to me handling it the wrong way and not putting most of my weight on the board.
The highlight was that halfway through everyone was called out of the sea which really puzzled us. Restless from just sitting along the shore, Gary went to ask around as to what's happening and apparently shark(s) were spotted. Not long after we saw people patrolling the waters with the raft which led to a rather nonsense thought of mine:
Since the raft is made of plastic and we know how sharp and strong sharks bite, would the raft fly as in the cartoons if it bites the raft?
We also saw a helicopter flying really low
presumably to find the shark? Anyhow the waves today were really big but weren't strong so we spent the time making 'sandcastles" along the shore which from an oasis with castles around, became to a fish pulling something to finally a humpback whale. It was a riot, 4 young adults playing as if they were small kids.
p.s. to mom and dad, not to worry it's really safe
coz we head to main beach and we always swim within the poles so that the life guards are able to keep an eye on us.
Love you all.
